FRANK WILLARD BROWER, JR
Class of 1951
One of the best intercollegiate soccer and baseball competitors to represent Washington College.
For four years in soccer he was known as the halfback that could play "both ways" on the soccer field. He was continually digging out the ball on defense and racing forward to become part of the offense. He was recognized as an All Maryland selection as Washington College's top back of the late 1940's.
In baseball he was a solid .300 hitter, possessed better than average speed and developed into a top defensive outfielder. He was named to the Mason-Dixon all star team in 1950, his Junior year. Unfortunately the College dropped the sport in his senior year because of expenses and the Korean War.
Brower was a leader on the field, being elected captain of both sports.
On campus he was an outstanding student leader, and was selected for membership in Omicron Delta Kappa, the national leadership society.
Since graduation he has been a success in business, rising from salesman to the presidency in 1972 of Air Shields, Inc., a company that deals in medical sales. He is currently president of Mission Medical, Inc., an organization specializing in home care and technical operating room products.
